On Saturday I was lucky enough to be part of Soroptimist International's morning tea as a guest speaker.
Soroptimist International's aim is to improve the lives and status of women and girls.
The event was held to honour Domestic Violence Prevention Month.
The topic of the event was "Creating Conversations" - because everyone can help drive change!
In my speech I shared how to help a young person that may present in a family or domestic violence situation, and shared some of the great community services available in the Eastern Metro Region.
Other guest speakers included, Cr David Lucas, Mayor, Michelle Roberts MLA for Midland, Swan Family & Domestic Violence Network & MIDLAS.
Over all this was a great event for a cause I hold great passion for, as I know Rise does too.
