Keeping people well in the community and out of hospital has never been more important.
Rise is getting behind the Prevent Support Heal campaign. Together, we will tell the Government that we need proper and balanced funding to provide quality mental health care for everyone, not just those who need hospital.
The campaign will seek in increase funding to community mental health services to help people to live well and recover, fostering confidence, independence and resilience - all basic foundations to improving mental health outcomes - and avoid reliance on hospital admissions and acute models of care. Prevention programs also intervene early before issues spiral to a crisis point requiring an emergency response.
However, funding for these services only covers one fifth of the amount required to help people live their best lives as outlined in the Government’s own 10 year plan, which we know is a priority for the McGowan Government.
Keeping people well in the community and out of hospital has never been more important.
That's where the Prevent Support Heal campaign comes in. Help us to achieve funding commitments from major parties to increase the amount of community mental health supports by 80% and increase the spend on prevention to 5% of the overall mental health budget.
