Christmas Wonderland
By Rise
17 December 2019
Yirra Mia has been transformed into a Christmas paradise as staff celebrate the silly season, with their annual Decorate the Room Challenge taking centre stage. Each year staff in their respective office spaces unite together to come up with a theme for their room. From here they are given a week to decorate, and madness floods the building as the battle lines become drawn in what is a spirited contest with everyone having their eyes firmly on the prize!
Creative flair is a must as each, and every square metre of space is utilised in order to hit the mark with the respective themes the teams have chosen. Teamwork and camaraderie are put to the test as everyone tries to gain the upper hand in the fight to win the perpetual trophy and bragging rights for the following year. Thankfully the team spirit is alive and well and no love has been lost by the time it all draws to a close.
Of course, there are offices which are occupied by a single person and these staff don't shy away from the challenge. Transport Scheduler Fiona was the inaugural winner last year with a theme named "A Beach Christmas". From sand to shells and beach towels her office was prepared in fine style resembling a lovely beach landscape that would rival the likes of Cottesloe. This year Fiona returns fresh of the back of her inaugural success with her new theme of "Australian Bush Christmas" Time will tell if she can lift the trophy for the second year running. More to come in the coming days when the winner is crowned on Friday 20th December! Stay tuned.
