Tell us about the Leadership WA Program you have been selected to take part in?

"I’m absolutely thrilled to have been selected for the Leadership WA Signature Program for 2021, and thankful for the support of Rise and our CEO Justine Colyer.

Throughout the 10-month program, I will have the opportunity to explore leadership through the lens of current and future Western Australian issues, along with other senior leaders from a diverse range of sectors, backgrounds and industries.

This photo was taken at Government House recently, where the program members for 2021 were welcomed by the Honourable Kim Beazley AC, Governor of Western Australia and Patron of Leadership WA."

You're also a busy mum, how do you juggle this?

"As a mother of three busy school children, I know how hard it is to juggle work and family while building a fulfilling career.  Rise supports me by providing flexible working arrangements and working hours, and recognising the value of women for executive-level positions.

Through my leadership role at Rise and in the broader community, I aim to foster a community where my two daughters will assume they will have the same opportunities as my son.  I don’t want them to be “given a seat at the table” – I want them to have a table that men want to sit at.  I want my son to grow up expecting women to be in positions of influence in our society."

Why is International Women's Day important to you?

"International Women’s Day is an important day to celebrate the strengths and abilities that women bring to our community - hopefully there will one day be a time when we don’t need an international day for people to recognise that."
