Rise Mental Health Week

Last week, Rise held its Mental Health Week Event at the stunning Crooked Spire gallery and event space. Here's a snapshot of what took place:

  • Interactive activities like bracelet-making, badge-creating, and painting pot plants to take home.
  • Sharing gratitude notes on our Mental Health Tree and contributing to our Mental Health Mural.
  • Always a fan favourite, the Blender Bike! Creating healthy and deicious smoothies using the power of movement.
  • Plenty of delicious muffins, snacks and drinks!
Collaborating on these activities were our friends at Indigo Junction, Multicultural Services Centre of WA (MSCWA), Midland Headspace, and Thread Together. The event was made possible thanks to grant funding from West Australian Association for Mental Health WA (WAAMH).

Mental Health Week is a national initiative scheduled around World Mental Health Day in October. The theme for Western Australia Mental Health Week was "Mind, Body and Environment", highlighting the connection of these elements to our overall well-being. It was incredible to see everyone bringing activities that resonated with the theme, and the smiles on peoples faces as they took part.

Considering the pressures we face, understanding how our physical health, nutrition, and surroundings impact our mental health is crucial. We're already looking forward to an even bigger event next year.
